Oliver Wilson’s one-shot victory at Denmark’s Made In Himmerland tournament offers plenty of hope for anyone looking to change their game.

Admittedly it helps if you’re already a talented professional golfer anyway, but it’s been a long road that the 41-year-old has been on to finish at the top of the leaderboard once again.

Oliver holed two huge birdies with his Odyssey White Hot 2-ball putter on the back nine to finish on 21 under, ahead of Scotland’s Ewen Ferguson, to claim his first DP World Tour title in almost eight years.

He had not even recorded a top ten finish on the Tour since a tie for fourth at the same event in 2019. His previous Tour triumph was seven years and 334 days ago at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in October 2014.

“Everything I've done to this point to rebuild my game, I knew I could do it," said the emotional world number 745.

"I was so calm there, I almost enjoyed the last hole. It's pretty special.

“I’m so proud of myself and I’ve got a great team around me. There've been some dark times and they’ve all stuck with me so this is for them as well.

"I've been pulling from everywhere I can to try to figure this game out and I don't think I'm there yet, but I feel like there is a lot ahead of me. I'm so pleased to win number two.”

Putting from distance must have been something he had worked on with his Odyssey White Hot 2-Ball Putter.  He putted from 66ft on the par three 13th and from 64ft on the par four 17th to card a four under 67. His par on the 18th sealed the win in Farso.

While Oliver shone there was disappointment for the two Tour golfers the Compare Golf Prices’ SuperFores competition was keeping an eye on.

Paul Waring had a good start to make the cut with a 68 and 67 only for the weekend to produce 75 and 74 to finish on level par for the tournament.

And Marcus Armitage didn’t even make the weekend because he followed up a first round 70 with a 73 to drop below the cut line and those scores meant no SuperFores jackpot winner, however, SuperFores player Simon Royce can celebrate because he recorded the highest score from his prediction to win the weekly Druids Ambassador pack worth £99.99.

Entry is now open for this week’s tournament when SuperFores wants your predictions for Rory McIlroy and Ian Poulter at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, get your entries in by registering here or log into your account.
