Mizuno’s first venture in the sporting world was actually baseball in 1909 as it was the two brother founders first love of American sports. It was 1933 before they ventured in to the world of Golf but their real progress was in the 1970’s when they started exporting to Europe with a great reputation for forged irons.
Since then they have established themselves as a serious player both with club golfers and on tour. A definite favourite of ours from back in the day was the Mizuno T-Zoid Pro, made you feel like a real golfer!
Mizuno had never had a player win a major championship with their irons but up steps Brooks Koepka and Pencils in 4 majors in 3 years.
Although Mizuno irons are well regarded on tour and by local pro’s for their fitting versatility don’t write off their other equipment lines either, The M-Craft Putters and ST drivers are definitely moving up the reputational ladder.
