Odyssey are the crème de la crème of the putter world, and with 770 professional wins on tour since 2010, resulting in $763 Million in winnings, it’s easy to see why. Back in 1991, Jim Flood founded Odyssey and released the ‘Rossie’ putter, which included a urethane insert in the face and went on to be an instant hit. The idea behind the insert was to enhance the sound, feel, and forgiveness that the golfer gets when using the putter, and this was worlds apart from the old school putters that can be seen in museums and the odd ‘senior’ golfers bag at your local club.
6 years on in 1997, Callaway golf bought out Flood for £130 Million, and since then, the company have went from strength to strength with the help of putters such as the ‘2 Ball’, the ‘White Hot’ range, and more recently in 2017, the ‘O Works’ line. Major winners at the top of the game including Phil Mickelson and World number one John Rahm continue to choose Odyssey putters, and it’s for that reason that the brand will continue to appeal to the masses for a long time to come.
