Ecco are a shoe manufacturer and retailer that were formed in Denmark back in 1963 by aspiring shoemaker Karl Toosbuy. Following success during his early years in the industry which had led him to the manager’s position in a shoe factory in Copenhagen, Toosbuy was keen to create his own business, and on the 1st of April 1963 Ecco was set established, and by the end of the year, 74 employees had already been taken on board.
It wasn’t until 1996 that Toosbuy decided that the company were going to start producing golf shoes, and this decision came with positive feedback from the golf industry. Now, nearly 30 years on, Ecco have established themselves among the likes of Footjoy at the top of the pile, as their footwear continues to be a massive success around the world.
Professionals regularly choose Ecco footwear while competing at the highest level. Fred Couples, Lydia Ko, and Henrik Stenson are all a member of the Ecco Team, and can regularly be seen wearing the likes of the ‘Street’ and ‘S-Three’ models while out on the course.
