Compare Odds for US PGA Championship 2013

compare-odds-uspga-2013Who do you think represents the best value for money bet for the US PGA Championship 2013 at Oak Hill Country Club? Tiger, Phil, Westwood, Poulter, Scott, Rose or defending champion Rory McIlroy? It’s an interesting one.

Given Tiger Woods’ relatively fragile performances in the majors in 2013 so far, I was interested to compare the odds being offered on Tiger winning the final major of 2013, the US PGA Championship. I say fragile because although he’s played well enough in the majors this year, his final round performances have definitely been below par.

Interestingly, Tiger Woods is still seen as the 11/2 favourite! Check out all the latest information on odds here. With a major drought going back to the 2008 US Open and Phil Mickelson picking up two majors since then, including the most recent major, you’d think that that would make Phil the favourite. Phil looks like better value at 12/1.

What about Rory McIlory? It’s easy to forget that Rory won last years US PGA by an amazing 8 strokes! The phrase ‘form is temporary, class is permanent’ springs to mind with Rory. We all know Rory has the class it’s just a case of how long this temporary spell will run. Does Rory McIlroy at 25/1 offer the best value in the field?

For my money Adam Scott is looking more and more like a major contender these days. The way he managed to close out the Masters this year was very impressive. He looks like solid value at 16/1.

For first time major winners there’s often a bit of a hangover period before they start winning again. I think Justin Rose falls into this category. I expect him to go well in the US PGA and think he looks like decent value at 20/1.
